The mission of Adaptive Style is to improve the lives of individuals with physical disabilities through advocacy,
providing resources and the development of social enterprises.
On December 3rd, Leah was interviewed by a reporter from Capital News Service based out of University of Maryland. They did the filming in Leah’s college sewing classroom. It was broadcasted on local tv and live streamed on YouTube. To watch the interview, click the photo above.

Leah was one of the panelists on the Be Your Own Boss session at the Howard County Youth Transition Symposium on November 9th 2019. Leah and other panelists were asked questions from the moderator and the audience on their businesses, their challenges and successes. There was a lot of great feedback from the audience. It was yet another great event!
Adaptive Style had a workshop at Ms Wheelchair Pennsylvania. Everyone was really excited about our work. We built an even bigger fan club! Thanks to Barb Zablotney again for inviting us!
Adaptive Style had the opportunity to design a gown for Ms. Wheelchair America 2019 and for the Junior Ambassador for the crowning ceremony of the Ms. Wheelchair America competition. During the week, we presented a workshop on adaptive clothing. We also had a booth at the expo. Wheelchair users took our survey on their needs in adaptive clothing. Many people love and need what Adaptive Style is doing. Several opportunities and connections came from this event. Click here for more pictures.
On April 27th 2019, Adaptive Style showed in A Night to Remember Fundraiser Gala to benefit Kennedy Krieger’s brain injury unit. The event was produced by Stephanie White Events and was held at The Sheraton Hotel in Silver Spring, Maryland. Adaptive Style showed 5 adaptive designs intermixed with 7 designs by Leah Faith Designs. The crowd went wild and gave Leah Faith Designs & Adaptive Style a standing ovation! It was a wonderful event!
Sunshine King was a featured auther in Kim Coles' book, Open Your G.I.F.T.S. Sunshine, pictured above left with the actress Kim Coles, commissioned a custom design by Adaptive Style for their book launching event.
